The Soda Crackers are teaming up their “twang” with another trio of pioneers. This time, they’ll perform with Norm Hamlet (pedal steel guitar), Jimmy Phillips (drums), Eugene Moles (guitar) with special guests and Pioneers Tommy Hays & Sonny Anglin. Southern California legend Deke Dickerson will be kicking things off on the right foot for what promises to be a can’t miss show from start to finish.
Opening the night of Bakersfield Sound is a legend in his own right, Deke Dickerson from Missouri. Deke Dickerson has devoted his long career to keeping America’s roots music alive while interjecting new creativity into genres of music that flourished in decades previous. Dickerson is 52 years old and has been carrying the torch since he was 13, playing in his first rockabilly band in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. He moved to Los Angeles at the age of 22 and proceeded to found his primary band, Deke Dickerson & the Ecco-Fonics, his newest group, Deke Dickerson and the Whippersnappers
